  • do you know if the ground control can also change the channels for the

marshall tsl 100...... I cant seem to figure it out ,.... thanx man

  • @goneavery

i'm sure it can in conjunction with the GCX. you'll run 1/4" cords from the GCX to the amp footswitch button, and depending on the way the amp's footswitch works, it should command certain functions.. I'll play around with that idea and i'll let you know!

  • Thanks for the answer you made it very clear. Are you able to plug the GCP directly into the JVM and set it up to be able to go from green to red in the same channel without needing to toggle through with the original JVM footswitch? I also wanted to know if you can assign lets say the reverb or master switch to the GCP and switch them on and off on the fly. Thanks.

  • @bgong68

    some more very good questions!

ok to answer your first question; you ARE able to plug the GCP direct to the JVM if you use a 5 pin active MIDI cable and then using the GCP's power supply (you can use a 7 pin, with a GCX and forget the GCP's power supply, which is cool!) this ultimately replaces, and negates need for the JVM's footswitch. to toggle between channels/modes/FXLOOP/MasterVOL/ or reverb, you need to create an independant patch.

  • @bgong68

I myself wondered this and it took Marshall 2 weeks to reply.

Below was sent to me from the engineering department at Marshall Uk,

    ""Hi,

The JVM only attends program change midi commands. It does not have full

midi implementation so individual switch changes like the master volume must

    be made through different presets.

    Cheers

    Santiago""

Santiago Alvarez actually designed the JVM. along with all the new Marshalls.

  • Does the GCP recall the actuall settings of the EQ & Gain settings?

  • @bgong68

that being said, if you have a MIDI device that controls EQ as a parameter, per bank; you can use the GCP to coordinate that devices EQ settings, with your Amps's channel settings, along with any other combination of external MIDI devices (mind you, unless your amp is MIDI capable, you'll need the "GCX" to channel switch on your normal 1/4 jack insert)

I hope that answers your question.
