Bradlee Dean's House prayer caused a firestorm on the twitterverse and facebook this morning. Speaker Zellers restarted the session with a different prayer, and after a recess apoloigized and said someone like Dean would never be allowed to do it again. Dean, has a history of calling for jail time or more for gays and lesbians, and at a time when the House is about to vote on a Constitutional referendum, it was too much. Tom Scheck of MPR tweeted that it was Rep. Ernie Leidiger, R-Mayer that had invited Dean to give the House opening prayer, and he mentioned many faiths but Judaism, and alluded to Obama not believing in Christ.

  • God bless putting Bradlee Dean for putting GOD above these sin-filled politicians.

  • @Rockioe

You're a piece of shit bigot. Homosexuals feel the same love you to, that is if you are even capable of such a thing. Too bad for you, Bachmann and Pawlenty are guaranteed to lose the election to Barack Obama, which will now serve his second term. Grow the fuck up zealot

  • Mayor R.T. Ryback uou can't fool us. We know your in bed with the homosexual agenda.

This is the most important thing in our state that is either going to make us or break us. The Minnesota legislature did the right thing. Unlike you in your weak leadership.

    Minneapolis can do better!!!!

  • The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. ~Black Elk, Oglala Sioux

  • Encourage everyone to call their legislators and tell them we don't need a year and half of hate in this state. We need a year and half of people: working together, creating jobs, and seeking to understand those we perceive be different. Common sense. :)

Personally, I think we should have Civil Unions in Law, not marriage. Marriage is a religious, aesthetic and/or a hardware issue.

  • Blessed be Mayor Rybak. You tell 'em! Minnesota is a loving, intelligent state, the backwards and ill-minded folk cannot prevail in such repressive legislation.

  • I love my mayor!

  • If Jesus does come back today, there will be some heavy duty a** kicking on the Minnesota Republican floor. Either that or they will be the only ones left.

Well said mayor. Let's keep voting for HIM. Who SPONSORS this Dean hate preacher? Gay Bashers Target and Best Buy?

  • Wonderful message. The amazing thing is that, one would think the church would be the one standing up for equality, but instead it's the politician. This proves that the Bible is correct, because it is written "A child shall lead the way;" it is not the one who we expect to lead us is doing so, it's the one who we least expect. BUT Jesus did tell us that the prostitutes AND the publicans will enter the Kingdom of God before the self-righteous: The kingdom of God is within us and BUILT on LOVE!
