Well, we dodged a bullet here with this concept vehicle. We were beginning to suspect that the 2010 Detroit Auto Show would see the death of that oldest of auto show concept tropes, the concept car with suicide doors. Then along comes this nifty little gray box, the GMC Granite concept, and it has rear-hinged rear doors. Whew!

  • Too bad the production model will never look this good.

  • Why does GMC exist? Chevy builds the same basic trucks and crossovers.

  • is this a van or a suv?

  • Interior looks like a winner, but this is just a concept. Im afraid they will just put a plasticky pos boring interior once it hits production.

  • You dont crush cars. It is like taking someones home and burning it to the ground. A part of their heart went into it. And you riped its out and destroyed it. Spitting in American citizens faced. You shant ever be forgiving by ME.

  • A company can only get so big before it fails. Chysler has single handeldy killed handfuls fo brands, but look at them now. owned by fiat, only producing Dodge Chrysler and Jeep. GM has owned and staked in nearly 10 brands at once. how is that smart? How is destroying entire brands with loyal followers ethical? I dont want any part in Gm? I drive a Nissan Quest. I'll always drive my Nissan Quest. and will one day restore a Dodge Shadow. no GMC Ive liked in my live time: EV1 but they killed it.

  • @Wormtail81 GMC Exists because when all of those car companies became one corporation they created GMC or General Motor Company, Jesus......So General Motor Company Made General Motor Company badged Cars. Problem is, General Motor Company at one time made: Hummer, Saturn, Pontiac GMC, Chevy, SAAB, Oldsmobile, Buick, Geo, and the list only goes on. The company not only had competition with other brands, its own brands where "General" more on the line cheap by the 90's. They killed their on brands

  • I find it funny that there are still people calling GM "Government Motors." If you numbskulls were to keep up with current affairs, you would know that GM paid their debt back 5 years in advance. So therefor it belongs to share holders and NOT the Government.

  • @Wormtail81 Because If GMC were to actually be discontinued, GM's profits would drop substantially.

  • why dont they ever make the regular cars look like concept cars is there a problem with a realy nice car liek shit why not build it like why do we need concepts i mean they talk about the futre but btw it is the futre!

  • @Cargo1273, I never said it was dumbass.
