I was in a nearby building on the seventh floor when it started shaking a lot. I went outside shortly after the world stopped moving and saw some people gathered near this.
This occurred near Boone Boulevard and Howard Avenue off Old Courthouse Road.

Nobody is to blame, it's very common for buildings on the east coast to be entirely built out of bricks. Earthquakes almost NEVER hit the east coast, so there's no need to build a building expecting an earthquake.

No Americans got killed by the Virginia earthquake, which means more Americans died IN AMERICA from the Japan earthquake than this one because one photographer on the west coast drowned after a wave caused by the Japan quake carried him out to sea.
