my man Avogadro was in his lab
he was thinking of an elements molar mass
he was stuck in a pickle
and his brain had a tickle
and he named his finding mole

He brought his number and showed it around
Everybody laughed and he frowned
He took out proof and showed it in their face
But after he died he received his fame

i pledge allegiance to the mole
and to the science from which it comes
one SI unit, extremely divisible,
with micro-moles and milli-moles for all
