When I heard that Karla Bonoff wrote this beautiful song after she lost her cat, I listened to the lyrics more carefully and realized how well she described the bond we share with our pets and the grief we must endure when they leave this earth.
We lost both our cats in a period of 18 months and I thought it very fitting to memorialize Katia (the black and white cat) and Cogito (the orange cat) with her music. This is dedicated to all of us who seek the special bond that is shared between humans and pets...... But especially it is dedicated to our Katia and Cogito - for bringing us laughter and love. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.

Caroline, thank you so much for that beautiful tribute to your babies. I haven't cried like that in a long time. I lost my beloved tuxedo cat Phillipe two years ago to Congestive Heart Failure. I miss him still SO much it sitll hurts. Let's all remember that they will meet us at Rainbow Bridge someday and we'll all be together again. (HUGS) and thanx again!

Thank you so much for your kind words and how touched you were by my tribute - it means a lot to me. It truly amazes me how much our pets influence and enrich our lives – the bond we share with them is so special – and will always live within us. It sounds as if your tuxedo cat Phillipe was such a pet. Even though they live such a short time – it is better to have known and loved them. And know somewhere they are watching over us – our special guardian angels. Take care, and thanks again.
