We missed the best Surround Sound Test Disk?
We had a lot of fun doing our all surround sound episode last week, but Sam from Jersey wrote in to tell us we'd made a terrible error: "You missed the best audio BluRay out there in your top list, AC/DC Live At Donington. I know it's a concert and not a "movie" but it's the benchmark disc I use when I checked my speaker placement." Thanks for the heads up, Sam!

The new Blu-ray releases for October 13, 2009 include: Adoration, American Violet, The Craft , Drag Me to Hell, Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas (last week we saw the 1965 animated classic, this week we have 2000's version with Jim Carrey.), Kong: Return to the Jungle, Mary Shellys Frankenstein, Natural Born Killers: The Directors Cut, The Proposal, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut and Wolf.

Nvidia Ion: Home Theater PC Ready?
Lots of folks have been asking about Nvidia's Ion, essentially a GPU for the Intel's low power Atom CPU. The folks over at Puget Systems were kind enough to loan us one of their Echo I HTPC boxes with a Blu-ray drive inside watch the video to find out it did with 1080p video!

  • My computer has 120hz and my monitor is a samsung 120hz so when I play team fortress 2 or dead space it looks very nice! And the HDMI cable is a Vizio 120hz HDMI cable that supports 3D I just wish I had a gpu that supports 3D
