Texas Board Certified Criminal Defense and DWI attorney Stephen Hamilton says that an officer cannot force you to take a breath test. Instead, the officer will read you what are called the "statutory warnings" which says that you have been arrested for DWI and now the officer is asking for a sample of your breath.

Then the officer will tell you what will happen if you do not give a breath test. Sometimes an officer will make promises to you or even make threats if you do not give a breath test. Watch the video now to learn more about what to do when asked to give a sample of your breath.

For more information about DWI in the State of Texas, be sure to visit my educational blog at http://www.lubbockdwilawblog.com, where you can chat with me personally and learn more about what to do when charged with a DWI. If you have questions, call me at the office, my number is (806) 794-0394. I welcome your call.
