Dirt Season 2 Promo "Lights, Camera, Mugshot!"

The live action of all the actors and Courteney Cox was shot first against greenscreen. Then after a rough edit was approved, the selects of the actors were animated using a technique called Rotoscoping (basically painting over each frame of the live action) Then 2D and 3D backgrounds were added along with 3D camera moves to give it all the depth. FX Networks came up with the brilliant concept ideas and scripts! Arsenal's director/designer Vonetta Taylor brought it all together.
