Mit Windows Azure Drives können aus Windows Azure Cloud Services Daten in ein persistentes Dateisystem gespeichert werden. Eine in einem Windows Azure Page Blob abgelegte VHD (virtual hard disk) dient dabei als Speichermedium. Dort abgelegte Daten werden - wie bei Page Blobs üblich - 3-fach abgelegt und sind somit ausfallsicher gespeichert. Windows Azure Drives eignen sich speziell dann, wenn auf Windows Azure Services und Frameworks eingesetzt werden, die zwingend ein Dateisystem zur Ablage von Daten erfordern.
