I agree with you, Roubini has clearly (and only recently) compromised his previous Economic forecasts.
Why?
And please don't tell me that the situation has changed, as it clearly has not.
For me it is possible, that he may have been threatened by the power's that be, who are clearly now starting to SWEAT.
Or is it that he has always worked for the other side?

Can China extracate themselves from thier delima, I dunno ... but the UK an USA are in worse shape.
Is this going to be a similar or worse collapse than that of the Lombard System ... quite possible.

Its his american view. And this is a lot of propaganda and megalomanic viewpoints.
I think he tries to tell the american people that they have nothing to expect from the Chinese economy. But his explanations are wrong.
China does the only right thing it can do: to invest in the own infrastructure and economy with the money they have (as long itis worth something). I don't see much future for the US. I rather see a secession after revolt like unrests.

But he is happy with the buying of silver and gold. And so am i, let the price rise i would say.

He's right in a way.
China has a hughe over capacity and can not sell the stuff they produce anymore. For most Chinese it is still unaffordable to buy anything of the goods they produce by themselves The Chinese industry ist made for the export market and thats the problem they have.
But he is wrong with the idea that China was not the global engine. But the consumers where in the western world and they are broke now. Its a symbiosis and China will make big losses. Just wait and see.

But it is a bogus angle. Het talks like chinese consumption will have an effect on the world economy, but chinese consumption will be mostly of chinese goods. He talks about consumption as GDP, but GDP is the 'combined value of all goods and services PRODUCED'. He is simply stark raving mad.

Shure its bogus, you're right. But his conclusion is right so far as that China will not pull the world out of its mess. The buying power of the Chinese population in average is still very very low. And the Chinese GDP was or is dependent vastly from american and european consumption. Thats gone now.
I don't trust Roubini neither, he is telling too much crap. So as the US economy will stop declining in a few month. He also never mentions the entire monetary system blow up. A tv puppet.

Now you make no sense..If an angle is bogus its bogus. You confuse your understanding of GDP with his also..China pulling the world out of a consumptive slump is what China is now activly trying to avoid, so it makes no sense to talk about it as if China would welcome it. China has massive savings. It can buy whatever it needs. The US is a wasteland run by psychopaths. Roubini is riding a set of believes that is completely irrelevant..
