From page to stage there's a highly anticipated new arrival in the west end as Gone with the Wind opens to a star studded audience. As ever we were there to get the pre show buzz; will the audience really give a damn?
I'M A BIG BIG BIG GWTW fan and I think this would have been neat to have seen. I do wish they would open it again. However I heard it was rather long.
I went to see the show, and I thought it was fantastic. The actors were brillant (especially Darius =D), the atmosphere was brilliant. Stick the critics, most of the time they don't know what they are saying anyway. Chin up Darius =)
I've seen Gone With The Wind The musical. I thought it was a great show. So moving. I cried when Darius sang the lullaby to the dead Bonnie and when Jill and Darius sang "Alone".
Darius got great reviews - "charismatic", "commanding", "a revelation", "sings marvellously" etc
The critics' notices for GWTW were not good, but IMHO it was the subsequent widespread reporting of the harshest comments with headlines about damned or such, which deterred audiences and killed the show.
