Man you don't understand taxes do you? It has nothing to do with the oil prices or company profits. Gas will go up anyway it doesn't effect the tax. 28 cents a gallon will save me 50.00 a month and the truckers a lot more than that.

The French actually pay less absolute taxation than we do in America if you include the prices the average American pays for health care and other public goods that everyone is most certainly better with. On a larger point, your comment displays a general lack of insight that many Americans have due to right wing intimidation. Fuck off, and inform yourself just a little bit.

Lastly, even if the oil companies do not raise their prices in response to higher taxation, they will raise the price of gas due to higher demand....demand created by the incentive to pump more gas due to the Clinton/McCain proposed tax holiday.

Obama has talked repeatedly on a larger point that you nor would anyone else even get 28 bucks. Clinton plans on paying for the tax suspension by taxing the oil companies more. What do you think they will do to counteract the additional taxation? Well, raise the price of gas...duh. That is what has happened every time this plan has been enacted in different states. Moreover, the plan will never pass. It is impossible to be a rational person and view this as anything but political pandering.
