  • Thank you very much for this, i own an ew100 g2 and i was wondering the quality of the mic with the 7d and this was what i was looking for!

can you tell me, did you connect this in the mic in port or did you use another device to record the sound, e.g h4n or something? Thanks and good job!

  • @nicefreestyler ...glad you liked the video.

For this video i went in direct to the 7d's jack...Had to play around with settings on the transmitter and receiver (of the ew100 g2) trying to override the AGC on the 7d. In the end I couldn't but since the "location" had its own pretty loud ambient sound it was OK.

I now use a Zoom H4n with the Sennheiser wireless. Very clean sound.

  • @PonsMaar Thanks for the reply, have you got any sample videos of u using the 7d with h4n and ew100?

  • @nicefreestyler Nothing up on YouTube.

Also, because of the 7d's lack of a manual audio gain control i'm having doubts about the whole workflow. I work as a one man unit so keeping track of all the details with shooting video on the still camera is starting to wear me down.

I will be getting a Canon XF100 when they are released.

  • Excellent documentary Pons! You have mastered that Canon too. Besides all the Kudos to you, I like d'Arci's tie and the 50's ad music like it's from sort of how to use a blender commercial to make your life easier.

  • Coooool! Nice clean images and smooth editing!
