Every pianist gets unveiled on this etude. Kissin. No feelings
-
Chopin's soul possesed Kissin D: !

@colourfulwithaU That's what I mean when I say he doesn't make them like Kissin. Kissin's are obvious. I'm not trying to argue against you, I agree that it's down to the fact that Richter was simply better than Kissin is.
-
Actually, Richter does make mistakes like the ones Kissin makes in this video (full out wrong notes/chords). They are just much less frequent, because Richter was one of the best pianists to ever live, and Kissin is not.

@colourfulwithaU The one on the Deutsche Grammaphon 'Recital' album which is also on You Tube. I have it on a compilation album. That one is also quite fast, but Richter has control of the keyboard.
I disagree with the person who already answered me. Richter doesn't make mistakes like Kissin makes in this video. Kissin is 40 now and supposed to be a famous interpreter of Chopin.
-
I also prefer Richter's version. But not the black and white video. That one is too fast. Which did you hear?

I love the beginning. He plays it sooo beautiful xD

It's truly amazing, i love when interpreters really give power to this piece (kissin, Kempff...)
