The irony is IF you want your terms heard, you also WANT them accepted. If do not wish them to be accepted, WHY STATE THEM? You want to be a selfish, egoist, wealthy prick who hates poor people, do it. No artistic work ever needed to tell people to become MORE selfish. @SouthParkBear true. Objectivism fails the Prisoners Dilemma, the Volunteer's Dilemma, & many other logical concepts. In stating all Altruism is "evil" Rand unsuccessfully tried to change "selfish greedy pricks who mock the poor" into being the "height of human existence". See, even they don't LIKE being called a selfish asshole. But they must OWN it. In her world Daniel Planview from There Will Be Blood is a HERO. To rational folks, he's an irrational, evil, lying, soulless, looting cocksucker

Well it's complicated, because Rand ENDORSED the same Social Darwinism, upon which Marx based his rejection of free-markets-- which in turn he blamed for elite oligarchy; he considered it "an earnest of the epoch to come that it fell to the lot of Abraham Lincoln, the single-minded son of the working class, to lead his country through the matchless struggle for the rescue of an enchained race and the reconstruction of a social world."

So Marx and Rand were truly Tweedledum&Dumber.

@SouthParkBear other good points. I've noticed the "I'm smart you're dumb" in all Randroids I've come across. No person is an island. She claimed socially they were which is absurd. If that were the case, no one would be born, since they'd be labeled "parasites". She contended that selfishness mixed with the absence of altruism was the height of human achievement. It's the exact opposite in reality. Whatever she stated, you could almost count on the opposite to be statistically to be true

Another point: Rand's theories never stood the test of being taken to their logical conclusion; for her claim of "greed is good' doesn't stand up to her caveat of respecting others, except out of sociopathic pragmatism.

Rand also made logical errors, like saying "success always takes hard work, so if you work hard then you'll succeed--" an obvious fallacy between necessary and sufficient relationships.

This is why Rand led a cult-following, since they were dumber than she was.

The point is that EVERY pseudo-intellectual will claim to be "objective--" which is simply saying "I'm smart, you're dumb."

Her inverse-Marxism is clear from the fact that she took CREDIT for her social status and education, and NEVER had scientific evidence for her claims-- only ANECDOTAL, saying things like "Wall Street hippies and trust-fund babies--" never considering that these might be the EXCEPTION rather than the rule.

She was highly pseudo-intellectual, hardly "objective."

Ayn Rand has an elitist mindset that rich people made it on their own merits, rather than corporate welfare and crony-capitalism-- just like from back home in Czarist Russia.

Like in her book "Atlas Shrugged" she has the Taggart family of railroad moguls-- which clearly shows she knows NOTHING of the American railroad, which was ONE BIG CORPORATE-WELFARE PROJECT!

In her Social-Darwinist mind, the smart should rule the dumb-- and she thinks she's the rulign elite, but she has produced ZERO!
