Torchwood: A Gwen and Jack Vid

I'd been wanting to make this fanvid pretty much since Torchwood started; as soon as I saw the fascinating dynamic between John Barrowman's sexy and charismatic Captain Jack Harkness and Eve Myles' wide eyed, beautiful Gwen Cooper, I knew there was a vid in it. The first few episodes of the show sealed it for me, because there were so many wonderful Gwen/Jack moments. A few of note include the Jack teaching Gwen to use guns scene and the wonderful kiss they share in episode 2. Even now, having watched the whole series, they're still my OTP for Torchwood, although there are so many different undercurrents running through the storyline it's been fascinating to see the relationships developing.

The song has always been a favourite of mine, and it's a very conventional shipper vid that captures the longing looks and stray touches the two characters share in a very straightforward way, and although I probably could have been more adventurous as regards effects and transitions etc, I decided against having anything too flashy and using too many cuts, because I think the scenes pretty much speak for themselves.
Leann Rimes' Right Kind of Wrong is one of those songs that has been used for numerous videos in numerous fandoms, but I couldn't resist it as it seemed a good choice for Gwen, who is definitely trying to fight her attraction to Jack in this vid (and, obviously, failing!). I wanted to get across a sense that she is battling her desire for him, and he's becoming affected by his own feelings for her. A scene I'm particularly pleased with is two minutes and thirteen seconds in, the 'I should try to run...I just can't seem to...' line, where Gwen actually walks into Jack's office, as if to tell him to back off, and she ends up waving her hands somewhat hopelessly when she confronts him. I thought it was a fun little scene to add, because it sums up her confusion completely!

This is a vid I planned many times in my head, and I thoroughly enjoyed finally making. I hope you enjoy it :)

Gwen knows flirting with Jack is going give Gwen grief, later. She more alive with Jack, and Jack is drawn to Gwen like a moth to a live flame. He's going to get burn, he can't walk away from Gwen, she can't deny what she feels for him. They both going get hurt.
