clayopalstar, thanx for the headsup on higher quality upload. this has got to be one of the best blues ballads ever. gospel background singers, that fretless sliding that Hendrix does, and that slowy dripping waterfall as the ambience. this exact recording belongs in the library of Congress. it's that original. even Hendrix's singing is so reverent.
it's simply a masterpiece.
thanx for the email.

I like this but it's good to know about the overdubbing, sessions musicians, and back-up singers. Do they get credit on the albums? Who are they? I don't have Midnight Landing and Crash Landing. A lot of session musicians have come out these last few years to talk about what they did, especially those who weren't credited on records. A lot of it is news to me. They should be credited on the records and video descriptions. Just saying. (:

@Dns2080 yeah but he wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary for the time or even now,and this is all music that would have been buried under the shelves by the music industry....obviously they wanted to cash in on his unfinished music(which didn't happen resulting discontinuation of alot of these albums) ,but in doing so they have only served to spread his music and his message,which I believe was a message of love.......

get stoned and listen to this, it's awesome :)...

@clayopalstar i like that "douglas way", it's excellent job...
Guys, you should realise that Alan Douglas, the producer of the posthumous albums "Midnight Lightning" and "Crash Landing" overdubbed almost every song with session musicians. So what you're hearing, wasn't originally made or produced by Hendrix, except for his guitar playing, but then that's it.

@Dns2080,
So... do you think he did a good job?
I love Midnight Landing and Crash Landing (1975), just because they don't sound like any of Jimi's other releases before or since.
And these tracks have Jimi's guitar and his vocals...
Jeff Mirinov did an excellent job on guitar complimenting Jimi's playing!
The controversy seems to stem from Douglas replacing Noel Redding, Billy Cox and Buddy Miles parts with session musicians, but I think the results speak for themselves... a #5 album!

PS, I actually hit 480p and it sounds even bettter.
one thing I've always wondered its why on earth don't they rerelease ALL Hendrix is SACD or Audio DVD in Dolby or DTS,...now that would take us to the ourter reaches of the Milky Way.
what a genius.

And it's sourced from my 1975 vinyl copy of Midnight Lightning... even burned to cdr, you still retain that living warmth that only an analog needle singing down the groove of a record can give you.
Both Crash Landing and Midnight Lightning were put down by critics and fans alike at the time they were released in 1975, but I love the albums because they have a different feel to them than any other recordings... and since they have never been widely released on cd, the albums are treasured.
