Senna passou o Prost; só que os "caras" suspenderam a corrida na metade por causa de uma chuvinha e valeram as posições antes da última passagem pela linha de chegada (cancelando a ultrapassagem de Senna). E, realmente, se tivesvise continuado e Prost ficasse em 2º, iria receber 6 pontos, mas ganhou 4,5 por uma "vitória pela metade" e perdeu o campeonato para Lauda por 0,5 pontos. Era pra ser a primeira vitória de Senna, e com uma Tolemam, um carro ridículo que só andava com ele!
