Once the estate and armory for army surplus dealer Francis Bannerman IV, Bannerman's Castle has since fallen into disrepair. Now the Bannerman Castle Trust is slowly restoring the structures piece by piece. They recently granted us access to the island for a tour. This is what we found. For more information, visit www.hiddenhometown.com and www.bannermancastle.org.

UPDATE: Due to the cold and windy conditions of December and January of 2010, portions of the castle have crumbled away. On Monday, January 25, 2010, the north wall of the tower collapsed completely. This video is now one of the last glimpses of Bannerman Castle in its partially-intact state. Please visit www.bannermancastle.org for information on how you can save this vital piece of our history.
