CPT Chris Jones shooting the 155 mm Howitzer (round #1)

I was lucky enough to get a chance to fire a couple 155 mm high explosive (HE) rounds over the skies of Iraq. Each round weighs over 102 lbs and takes 1-2 guys to carry and load (kinda like carrying a keg of Sierra Nevada and tapping it).

The ground temperature at the gun line was 126 degrees! Burrrr.... Everyone drinks water and Gatorade constantly. I am the guy on the right of the gun pulling the cord (i.e. trigger) to the raw explosive power of this indirect fire (IDF)! I would not want to be anywhere near the receiving end of these shells!

130mm VC used much better and good indistances!

I do not think 155mm can beat 130mm Soviet made...American must hide and let VC destroyed their 155mm in Khe Sanh and wait for B-52 came and help!
