Short Videos on Tank Training provided by USF.
I could have done a better video then this, but I did not have time, it was done over a year ago. This was done on our Closed Match Server during a USF Tank School. Whenever I approach a Heavy Tank when I am in a light tank, I do not shoot immediately. I tend to Drive By the tank, to pass it some bit, when I shoot it in the side(normally in the tread, unlike in the video) it is Natural for the enemy to start turning his tank to the right as well. So if your not "behind" him, he could get a 90 shot on you and take you out. So the idea here is you shoot him as you come across, you end up behind him increasing your chances of getting either a shot to the back of him, or another side shot. As you can also see, I also adjust my tank to face him, and Also move back, for most enemy tankers, this throws off there perception and miss the shot, as this guy did in the video. So practice this one, its fun!

  • How could you possibly win an M10 if its a tank on tank if its a "Stop-and-see-whose-gun-is-more-powerful" duel.

  • I do not fully understand your comment but hopefully I can try to answer.

First of all a tread shot is a tread shot, and yes even a Panzer/Sherman could take out a M10 in 1 shot by hitting the front tread.

But it is something you just do not want to take your chance. I am just showing this video to keep you alive and continue fighting.

  • Also, you can visit us on our server and any USF member can show you how :)

Our Server is always on Aberdeen.

Do a search for "EA10 Aberdeen" in BF42 and you will find it.

  • Not to knock you, but it looks like you were already past his 3 o'clock when he saw you, so the M-10 was as good as yours. Thanks very much for your videos! Very useful! By the way, what would you recommend if you were in the M-10's situation? Reverse turn to the left to face the oncoming PzKpfwIV?

  • Sorry about the late response on what I would do in the M10, I did not catch that initial question from you. Whenever I get hit from someone and I dont immediately know where it came from I would go to where I know there is nobody, usually straight in front of me. So I would have moved Forward to the other side of the hill as I know I only have a few seconds before he unleashes the next shot.

  • This gives me a chance to get away, or time to figure out where he is and consider a defensive position. :)

  • Yes, very true, it's happened to me. I tend to get excited and do silly things like stop and engage in a gunnery duel. Or else chase a departing enemy, miss my first shot which alerts him, then die when i panic and lose the gunnery duel. Thanks for the answers!

  • This particular video was staged only for you to get the idea of what to do. Most folks STOP and shoot, the M10 could then turn and 90 you. Making it useless that you "surprised" it.
