@QBCNetwork I believe Monty Hall actually did New York Rangers' games for a couple of years in the late 1950's, and that was the job that bought him to the "States from his native Canada.

jack clark died in 1988 not 1986 im surprized to find out he was only 62 when he passed i guess the grey made him look older
-
@altfactor Actually, the last time he did a game show was in 1980, IIRC, with the last "Sports Challenge" episode...
-
I'm surprised Dick Enberg hasn't done a game show since 1975.
A greatly under-rated game show that should have been far more successful.
-
@Jaybird1103 Jack Clark passed away sometime later than 1986, after they went to all-cash on "Wheel" (which they did in '87).
Dick Enberg is now in his second year of calling Padres games. I believe at the time this was airing, he was play-by-play voice for the California Angels (now Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) in addition to also hosting "Sports Challenge," which he did from 1971-'79.

How ironic is this? This show was cancelled on November 28, 1975; the day before, November 27th, Dick Enberg's eventual NFL broadcast partner, Merlin Olsen, played defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions, the first of 27 Turkey Day games at the Pontiac Silverdome.

What a joy it was to guest on this show with my friend Dick Enberg...Jim MacKrell
-
And now, Dick Enberg is the play-by-play man for the Padres.
-
@richie19190 It was a treat to watch Dick Enberg broadcast the last NFL game by the Baltimore Ravens (and all of Baltimore sports mainly historic Colts and Orioles) playing at the historic (Baltimore) Memorial Stadium before moving into the then-brand-new stadium known back then as PSI Net (Now M & T Bank) stadium
-
I'm saying Dick Enberg will announce some of the Padres' games this year. In the 1970s, Enberg was the voice of the California Angels (now the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) and the Los Angeles Rams (now the St. Louis Rams).
-
Jack Clark. I remembered when he was the Game Show Host for "Dealer's Choice", and "The Cross Wits", which were both shown at night in Channel 11 KTTV-Los Angeles back in the 1970's. When did Dick Enberg do play-by-play for the San Diego Padres? From what I know, The Legendary Gerry Coleman is their Play-by-play Man. And on TV I see Matt Vasgerian doing the announcing.
-
According to Yahoo!, Dick Enberg has been hired by the San Diego Padres to do play-by-play for the team, meaning that he will not call the NCAA Basketball Final Four for CBS. He will still call Wimbledon for ESPN and do some spot work for CBS.
BTW, the announcer for "Three for the Money" was Jack Clark, who was both an announcer and game show. I think he passed away in 1986 while he was the announcer for "Wheel of Fortune".

That staff sergeant on Barbara Feldon's team reminds me a bit of Bruno Sammartino.
-
agreed on enberg as the greatest
-
Love those Camaros from 1975.
-
Does anybody remembered when Dick Enberg did Sports Challenge?
I highly agree about Dick Enberg being the Best NFL Announcer. Living here in Los Angeles, I missed those days when Dick Enberg was the Voice of both Los Angeles Rams Football, and California Angels Baseball as well.
-
i agree
-
99!!!
-
Her last name's just Henning, actually, not Hennington.
-
Finally, we have an full episode. But do you have the one with Linda Kaye Hennington and Dick Gautier?
Dick Enberg is the Best NFL announcer of all time. I have a few of his broadcasts when he did some Cleveland Browns games. He and Merlin Olsen are legends.

According to Dick Enberg's autobiography, it was Monty Hall who encouraged him to do game shows since it was like doing sports. Hall himself was a hockey sportscaster a long time before LMAD.
