we were taught to first do it on the 16X mag with the parallelpippet on the the corneal reflex (that really bright reflective spot on the cornea) then swing the lamp to the side about 45 degrees and view it on 40X. the endothelium is on the dimmer side of the beam. it's hard to focus on 40x, so i recommend focusing with 16x first.

@TheJEWANDPROUD you mean a parrelpiped....just increase the slit to a broader slit to around 2-3mm.

lol it is a good job jazaleax replied to my comment before you. I used his/her method and managed to view the endothelium. Thanx for the advice though ;)

Anyone know the best way to view the endothelium on a slit lamp?

There is no best way to do this on a slit lamp. You should use a specular microscope, which can achieve magnification up to 200x.
