@XalmostbrokenX Epiphone les pauls are NOT mediocre, maybe the resale value isn't there like a Gibson, but the Epi's seem to play a bit better, I'd say spend about $160 on a Crunch Lab and Liquifire into the guitar, and watch your tone increase a hundred-fold xD

lol, he says mess-ah boo-gee

@mazsenior Nah dude. I get that, but that pickup/amp combo is for shit. They may as well have used a crate for the demo.
-
@Deathz0r94 No it doesn't. You just buy into the marketing hype of Pick-ups, when it's really the player.
-
@mazsenior Still sounds like shit no matter how you look at it. You need better pickups for this kind of amp to shine.
-
@Deathz0r94 Did you even watch the whole demo? NO..!
-
Man, that is the best tone demo outside of classic tweed amp rebuilds that I've ever heard.

I have a Mark V combo...It's amazing, hands down the sweetest amp I have ever played.
its a tweekers amp, a good read of the instructions is needed.
I have an Epiphone Elitist Les Paul (on the look out for new pickups if anyone has an opinion please reply!) and it sounds amazing. I also play a fender jazzmaster and the reverb will make the hair on the back of your head stand right up... sweet...
toss a tc electronics flasback in the loop for a killer sounding rig.

@XalmostbrokenX With decent electronics it wont sound bad. My advice would be to go for a Paul Reed Smith SE. They are under $1000 and very well made. Good rock guitars if thats your style. Go perfect with Mesa
I need this amp in my life! But I'm holding onto a pretty crappy Epiphone Les Paul Standard, will my mediocre guitar drag this amp down and mean I've wasted my money?
