The Electro Acoustic Exchange, a new site-specific installation created by George Higgs for the Project Arts Centre, Dublin was revealed on 24 July.
The result of an intensive three-month 'study of musical and economic value', the work is scored for cello, sine waves, sampled voices and 'mixed commodities'. It is played through an eight-speaker, ceiling-hung kinetic sculpture using musical scores made from economic graphs.
What a brilliant sonic experiment!
