Two things: 1) I never thought I'd see Pat Metheny in a tux. 2) Why does Jobim sing it in English?? You can sing the phone book in Portuguese and it sounds gorgeous... a song like this needs to stay in Portuguese even if the audience doesn't speak it. Very cool video anyway!!!

Nossa, me arrepiei aqui com o solo do Pat Metheny. E a distribuição das 'vozes' na base do piano pelo próprio compositor Tom Jobim, depois de anos de vivência e com a música intrínseca em seus neurônios geniais, é perfeita.

How proud must Pat Metheny have felt that nobody less than Tom Jobin invited him to join him to a duet to do Desafinado... He must remember that as one of his greatest moments... he's excellent, really... GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!
