White Lies perform Farewell To The Fairground and Unfinished Business live at the Komedia Brighton on 29 September 2008.

White Lies were previously known as Fear Of Flying and released two Stephen Street produced singles on the Young And Lost Club label. Farewell To The Fairground was originally part of the Fear Of Flying live set.

Unfinished Business, White Lies debut single, was released on the Chess Club label and was recognised by NME as Track of the Week.

Farewell To The Fairground and a new recording of Unfinished Business both feature on White Lies debut album, To Lose My Life, released 19 January 2009 on the Fiction label.

White Lies will be touring the UK as part of the NME Awards Tour (with Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires and Glasvegas) from 29 January. They will also be supporting The Cure at the O2 Arena in London on 26 February for the NME Big Gig.

  • shit crowd, awsome band

  • Can't argue with the second part of that hiyamattttte!

But, to be fair, the crowd was really good at this gig - when you consider that this is White Lies playing in a tiny venue 4 months before the album came out - and 6 months before Fairground was released as a single.

Check out the last couple of minutes of my clip of Death from the same gig (in Video Responses above).

I guess not everyone knew all the words to Fairground 9 months ago!

  • Im going to see them on 5th may hope its more lively... great band though xo

  • The Komedia gig was actually pretty lively considering that it was 4 months before the album came out - and 6 months before Fairground was released as a single. Jack said after the show that he thought it was a really good audience.

Check out the last minute of my clip of 'Death' from the same gig if you don't believe me! (You can find the clip in Video Responses immediately above these comments).

Enjoy the gig on 5th May - it will be awesome!

  • Hope they sound better than this at Reading. Mind they'd have better sound tech guys at Reading. :)

  • The sound was fine at the Komedia - but I was standing directly in front of Charles' bass amp stack so the bass is pretty upfront. Not necessarily a bad thing mind - I think it sounds awesome at 5:46 on Unfinished Business on this clip...and when the bass kicks in at the start of my clip of E.S.T. from the same show it totally blows away the album version IMHO.

  • I love this song!

It's like 80's style and there are hardly any bands like this.
