Went to the LA Times Grand Prix at Riverside from 1966 to 1973 and loved everyone of them.
God I miss the Can-Am series!

All of Chaparral 2's are on display at the Permian Basin Peroleum Museum in Midland Texas.

Oh, finaly, he wound it up and almost cleared it out. I was hoping he would, those plugs were getting just a little fouled. Anyone know what ever happened to Halls vacuum cleaner car?

Chaparral cars probably would of won a bunch more races if thay hadn't pushed the envelope so hard ! But maybe we wouldn't have such fond memories of them.

I saw that race too, he and Bruce McClaren were awesome that day. Great day.
One of the coolest cars ever made. Seeing these at Riverside Raceway in So. Cal in '66 was an awesome experience. 40 years later they still look modern...now that's a timeless design!

Phill Hill, Jim Hall, Hap Sharp raced these monsters on a shoe-string. McClaren ended up taking the championships in those years, but these were the heart-stopping hi-tech cars. Jim Hall is one of the greatest, most overlooked car designer-driver of all time. Truly one of the greatest of all time. Fantastic shots and insight with the car. THANKS!
