When he was kicking those were his nerves. Death kicks. I've shot hogs behind the ear with a 45-70 shooting 405gr. garret hammerhead superhard cast and have them do that, I thought they were still alive and suffering until I found out one day they weren't. How could you still be alive with a hole in your head the size of a fist?

Lets see them cutters !!!!! Did you do a skull mount ?

It was a good shot. I know first-hand that things twitch when they're shot dead. Deer and geese do it all the time.

@sellstuff2killstuff like in the head or or lungs?

Ive shot a few hogs, and they dont kick like that cause I only take lung shots and they are stone dead in 60 seconds or less . I dont believe in head shots, even a 223 will go through both shoulders so head shots are not necessary. BTW is that A 700 mt rifle ? That what I have in 708 too. sweet gun!

That was awesome! perfect shot! And huge for your first! There is nothing wrong with the kicks its the nerve reactions leaving the body. Now you should mount thet BEAST on the wall in your room! Later, Colton #74

@miketastic97
No I don't believe so. I have shot Coyotes with the .17 and it get's it done but shot placement to drop them is critical. The Hog's have too much armour. But if you shot them in the right place it would get it done i'm sure.

After watching the video it was evident those were not death kicks. That was a poorly placed shot and those were irresponsible hunters. They should have shot him agina to kill him humanely. People like that give hunters a bad name. You are not going to see an animal killed cleanly moving it's legs like that so long after the shot. You can have intial death kicks but the animal is not going to stop kicking and then start again later and go on that long.

Unbelievable! It's very evident 1958 has hunted very little. It's very very rare to shoot a hog and get an immediate nerve reaction. They always come a minute or so later after the kill. Why people comment on things they know nothing about is ignorance. If you for hunting, understand it and do not misrepresent it. For goodness sakes do not make uninformed judgements against other hunter's if you claim to be a hunter. The shot was perfect and humane, end of story!

@sellstuff2killstuff Never hunted a feral hog (or seen one) myself, since I'm in VA. I'm going to tend to believe you, however. That's because the pig was still as a stone for nearly 45 seconds to a minute while you were standing over it. If the pig were still alive and suffering, it'd be kicking and flopping around. Not just leg twitching.
