STS-132 Launch 5/14/2010 2:20pm Altantis

We went up to Jetty Park to watch the shuttle launch. This is to be the last mission for shuttle Atlantis.

The left channel is the NASA Launch Audio and ambient noise while the right is the ambient only. I used my HTC HD2 to stream Nasa Launch audio and held the phone up to the camera's left channel. The audio stream has about a 2 sec delayed due to network latency.

The six-member crew of STS-132 began their 12-day mission to the International Space Station with the May 14 liftoff of space shuttle Atlantis at 2:20p.m. Eastern from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla. Commander Ken Ham, Pilot Tony Antonelli and Mission Specialists Garrett Reisman, Steve Bowen, Mike Good and Piers Sellers are delivering to the ISS a cargo carrier filled with spare parts and Rassvet, the Russian Mini Research Module-1.

Is Jetty Park the closest you can get to other than the Kennedy Space Center itself? I'm going in April for Endeavor's final launch.
