Your Color is Red
Your color is red... and you are angry
Why are you angry?

Because you seem powerless - as though dead - impotent

Your color is red... and you are afraid
Why are you afraid?

Because you are powerless - to stop it, to act out against it, to change it, to deny it permanence

Your color is red... and you are sad
Why are you sad?

Because you are powerless - to stop the tears from flowing, to stop the gears from turning

Your color is red... and you are blood
And you are not powerless, oh murdered innocence.

Because you are not without witness and your feelings are not your own-
The dead merely rest in the bosom of consciousness - waiting
Because you are not without impact and your feelings are not forgotten
The dead in blissful surrender forget their self - re-beginning remembrances
Because you are not without meaning and your feelings not your own
The dead shed their emotions - spilling out into the world of the living
Crying up from the ground for justice

Where is your brother, who is able?
Able to carry your message
Able to exact your justice
Able to proclaim your name for memory 'ssake

Here they are!
These words that call for change
These words they don't want you to here
These words they ignore while killing another in the name of ignorance, oppression.
Here they are!
Screaming from the rooftops
Declared in the street
Fearlessly warring against those that murder them




Where are you?
At home watching television in comfort and security - calling evil "good"?
At home watching atrocity - wiping empathy from the face of the righteous?
At war on foreign soil - wiping democracy, liberty, and sovereignty from the face of the earth?
