Exactly, Sibelius19. I did about 30 "Spiritual Maturation Process" videos on that topic so we can individually TRACK our progress or regress, in an attempt to summarize 12 years of my pastor's daily Bible teaching on this very topic. Video descriptions link the associated pages.
MATURATION is the goal, post-salvation. We won't equally choose to mature, & that's why only a few of us will become kings. Of course, "kings" means "head slaves": same thought pattern as the 24 angels in Rev4.

I say the only thing we need, is to know that we believe, to know that we are not just paroting, or going through the motions. That's a personal issue. We must know we believe in our own selves. There is no other way we can believe.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Then we believe the same thing, that all who believe in Chist our Saved....and I believe there is a difference in Spiritual Maturation and Salvation. I agree. We are not unlike in our beliefs here. I hope you didn't the wrong impression from me. But, as followers and believers in Christ, we probably will mature naturally as an effect of that fellowship--indeed, following his sayings. However, I do believe truth is not only received at the brain, but is revealed by the comforter, as is said.

Sibelius, listen to the video again. You can indeed go back to being an axe murderer -- "and you'll be punished of course" I said. One must distinguish between salvation, and spiritual maturation. One cannot spiritually mature if sinning, since the Holy Spirit won't fill a defiled Temple (see 1Cor6).
But salvation is a one-shot "yes, I believe in Christ's Payment for my sins". So there IS something to lose POST salvation, see my two "Saved as What" videos.

Correct, Sibelius. That's why James' letter is about receiving the IMPLANTED WORD which is able to deliver your SOULS, Chapter 1:20-21. That's the theme of his letter. You have to MATURE spiritually. Salvation TO heaven doesn't mean your soul is delivered from bad thinking. That's why we have a Bible, to RETRAIN the thinking to become like Christ's. That's why we need 1John 1:9 and Matt4:4.

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom escendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and bstrife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
So after believing "you can go back to being an axe murderer or an athiest"?? (2:43)
But that just proves you were a Tare not true Wheat! In other words not really saved!
Sorry but that is plain wrong (unless you were being sarcastic)

IDH77, did you miss when @2:44 I said "you'll get punished of course"? Sometimes when I hear a video & react, I miss the next phrase.
You CAN be an axe murderer. Not the best idea though. For the believer has God's RIGHTEOUSNESS (2Cor5:21), so Col 3:25 applies. So it hurts MORE than hell, as you have eternal life & "must get all your discipline down here", my pastor quips in his "Law of Double Punishment" series.
We'll forever know our wrongs. God is Omniscient, & Truth is never shaved.
