I sent out our last in-stock kit last week - new kits are being produced now at the factory, and I'm starting a list for those units.

8-9 psi on a high compression motor is a bit different than the 8-14psi on a WRX with the lower compression motor. The WRX can make more peak power, but the 2.5i with this kit starts spooling from 1800rpm. Then there is the cost factor, with the 2.5i being about 5-7k cheaper than a WRX. Then factor in the lower insurance compared to the WRX. Add it all up, and the turbokit looks very attractive.

It is in production - we are taking deposits on the first shipment of kits in January.

We just finished a 3000 mile road tune of the production kit. We are using 430cc injectors and OpenECU/Romraider for tuning. Averaged 26mpg through most of the trip, except when climbing the passes, where we got 23mpg.

Did you have to change out the high comp piston for wrx low comp pistons, or are the internals are still stock.

@silverstreakimpreza re: pistons
The kit is going to be a low pressure setup, at max 6-8 psi of boost so that it can work with the stock pistons/engine. Despite that, it'll make good power and especially torque, because of the high comp pistons. The turbo will have a lot more head room in it, though, so people that do replace the pistons can run higher boost levels.
