I have not been able to access google groups with our google apps corp account

Wait this works with custom domains now? Because that's the only reason that would stop it from replacing vBulletin or SMF forums.

Last time I tired Google Groups it was kinda limited on what you can do with the design. Also there were no sub boards. Just boards and threads- no child boards. If google were to come out with something that was on par with VB or SMF then D:

Private boards, signatures, theme engine like blogger- maybe blogger integration.

Also yeah teh 4chan reference was funneh

BTW: This is driving me mad because a lol of technical questions from Google Groups show up in search results.

On my computer how come on search results I cannot access anything with Google groups if there is a link to a post?

Instead I get taken to a log in form instead when I search for help questions on Google and it links to a Google Group post and all I want to do is just view it.

Do I need to be a member just to even VIEW a forum post regardless if I want to reply or not?

Google Groups has become severely limited in the recent past. You can no longer post home page messages, share files or photos, or post a calendar of events. Yet Yahoo! Groups still offers these functions. Please Google, bring the old groups back again!
