Alan Moore, author of Watchmen & V for Vendetta talks about how his works are "unfilmable". Lets hope the Watchmen movie is the exception to the rule.

  • @Xxsuperdude13xX Sounds pretty sweet. Live action or a cartoon style to match the comic?

  • @SuperDarkserpent i wuold have suggested a tv series that ran for 1 season and had every episode cover 1 chapter

  • Here's my question for all the hardcore fans out there. With all that has been left out and this film still being as long as it was, what would you guys have suggested? 5 hour movie? Trilogy? Or Cutting out other specific bits from the finished movie?

  • @TheVetoSkreeemer ... Heard the squid only came in the end and pretty much did exactly what Dr. Manhattan did in the movie. If it came in from let's say half way and really is one of the most complicated fiction characters to explain then mate, I don't blame you!

  • @TheVetoSkreeemer Wow thanks man! And I thought the fanboy out cry was over nothing for a long while! Well you know what, I'm gonna buy the comic and give my due respect to Alan Moore. I'm still puzzled though as to where did the squid come from? From what ive

  • @SuperDarkserpent but could never take 20 guys or so like it happend on the film , he would have been crushed. 3) Rorsach: the pacing on his psychological interviews is quite different and disturbing.Leaving the shrink a total mess. In the end the changes are nt so much , what changed is the tone, there is little drama, the acting is stiff or overacted, the film lacks the depth wich the original comic had.

  • @SuperDarkserpent A lot, Snyder not only changed the ending of this comics , but made other changes as well. Some of the relevant stuff he omitted or changed is this: 1) Ozzymandias,: Had a whole issue in which you could explore and understnand his motivations , this was left out of the film leaving the character with little substance. 2) Night Owl: On the original comic he was a nerd super-hero, like Blue beetle or the sixties Batman, he had some fighting skills

  • @TheVetoSkreeemer He owns the characters he invented. He was so disappointed in V that he declined his huge fee, and said he didn't want his name on anything in future. So He's given up millions of squids, as a moral statement. For From Hell, for Constantine, for V, for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and now, Watchmen too. That is proper hardcore. Props to the Hippy.

  • @cet9280 Alan Moore has nothing to say on this , DC comics owns the material , so they make the movie deals. Moore has nothing to do with the deals, and as far as I understand he hasn t recieved money from this films and is uncreditted. Even if he was paid , which is not the case he still has the right to criticize the movies. I personally found Watchmen very mediocre.
