  • I love the "singing" the alto player did in back of the vibes solo. Our high school band back in 1951-52 played this tune along with some other comtemporary ones. I played baritone and the lead alto told me once during "sectionals" that I was playing too loud and ought to cool down. Loveeddd it all!! Still do. What great musicians we had then back in Detroit, Michigan. Thanks to whomever posted this.

  • You're welcome, bzackbear-san!!

  • This tune has a powerful pedigree. The sax solo is by the young Stan Getz. The composition was in part by Ralph Burns, who later had a big career on Broadway and Hollywood as a conductor and arranger.

  • wonderful--this is when music was music!!!!

  • Have you ever heard anything better than this? This brings back such great memories. Stan Getz was one of my all-time favorites. I'd always try to catch him when he was in New York. This was the tune that made him a star when he was only about twenty years old. Of course, this was the Herd that had the fabled "Four Brothers." Brother, what music!

  • One of my favourite jazz pieces. Absolutely wonderful.

  • wow, I haven

t heard this for years.. this is GOLD..

  • Love it - The best thing Woody ever did

  • beautiful song & arrangement..i saw him in 1955 USAF.

  • @travelomania ∽∽ For me too, mate, from here to eternity. This is one of the perfectest, one of the most beautiful charts in the history of the big bands. It all fits together, the arranged, and the improvised parts. It's pure beautifulness, as Stan's biggest influence, Lester 'Pres' Young has put it once.
