Umm - last time I checked, Obama hadn't said a WORD about helping blacks or whites. He is trying to make people forget about his race. I would support Obama if he agreed with me. Race is NOT an issue in the Presidential campaign for me (I'm Caucasian-American = white) and I have no problem voting for a black president.

No flip-floppin', just a great decision based on reality. Past elections have demostrated that you cannot be soft when competing with the GOP, negative campaigning at the local level has started already and Obama needs money to compete, to be able to fight back. This is great news, Obama is going to give them hell.

I would say it was a very smart move. One of the reasons why Dukakis, Gore and Kerry lost their respective elections is because they did not fight back the Republicans dirty politics, false rumors, smear tactics, and negatie ads. Obama has to fight back and give them hell and he will need a lot of money to do this, he cannot afford to be soft on Republicans, he has to hit them hard, aim ankles, knock'em down, and debunk every lie they put outthere as soon as possible. You need money for that.

Obama is a phony.
He doesn't want a level playing field with campaign contributions. That's why he's not taking the lesser amount (public financing) because he's a greedy liberal and he knows he can get more money from private sources.
