Great music, inspiring and majestic. Nicholas was weak and autocratic but Lenin and Stalin were evil, probably not the sort of leaders Marx would have wanted. Terrible fate for the lovely Grand Duchesses and the handsome son of the Tsar.

Nicholas was called "weak as water," I believe by King Edward XII, and he was his own relation through marriage at least. a good man who never should have been anything other than landed gentry. of course, the monarchy, on the whole, had no concept of the real world and the Russian people had a great capacity for suffering, so that is probably what kept the Romanovs going as long as they did.

Look at all the idiots here claiming they want the Tsar back. You fucking idiots. You would have STARVED and been treated like SHIT under the Tsar. God bless Putin for what he has done for Russia, but he cannot be Tsar. He does not have the pedigree. In these times of nihilistic modernity, people believe they can do 'anything', even challenge God. Monarchy is based on continuity by the law of God; it's a birthright. It's like your father passing you down a house and one day it was ransacked, robbed and occupied, however it is still 'lawfully' yours. Until every last Romanov dies, they'll be the 'only' remaining heirs to rule Holy Russia.
