Use this combination to keep Dropbox files safe. Make sure you unmount the volume Truecrypt file and give Dropbox time to sync before you shut down your computer so that you can access the file from your other computers.
Very clear and useful. Thank you! This video helped me sort things much quicker than if I'd had to figure it out for myself.
One thing puzzles me and I admit I'm probably missing something obvious here, but why is what seems to be an unused folder 'Dropbox Safe' necessary as well as 'Dropbox Safe 2', which is the one that is actually used to store data?
You should add something: If you are on the road and don't have truecrypt around and don't have the right to install it - how do you access that encrypted container in your dropbox? Easy: just put TrueCrypt.exe to your dropbox, too. It can be started without installation.
@Pottsy1981 I'm thinking about doing the same. As of right now I have my keepass file saved in there without any further encryption, but it also has a keyfile in addition to the password. I save that keyfile locally on my computers, not on dropbox, for added security.
Great tutorial. Really appreciate the video and with clear instructions. I'm now using KeePass for all my passwords, but I wanted to protect it even further other than the password for KeePass to access, so now I can create a file with TrueCrypt and put the KeePass file into it giving my passwords file 2 levels of security and saving the TrueCrypt container file on my dropbox! Love it.
try SECURASI for dropbox ..very easy to use client side encryption tool. google securasi.
