Sensei Ken Broome (7th Dan) is demonstrating the second set of 18 techniques from the Goshin Ho - a "self defence" kata from the Shodokan style of Aikido .
The second half of this video concentrates on 3 techniques demonstrated slowly to assist learning.

  • Nice video. But why uke sometimes make fall on his head 3:34?

  • @dardfazer Hi, glad you liked vid. The technique you refer to actually controls the shoulder once applied so it is up to Tori whether Uke's head is forced to the floor or not. Hope that answers your question.

  • I look another videos of your "type" of aikido, and in others vid it is the same move to fall. This version on aikido look's similar to nishio aikido. It isn't so smooth like other aikido but i think is much more simple and ueasfull. For this technique at 3:33 i know that it is nikio omote, but i always saw the finish on the ground like in ikio omote.
