Due to a DC government agreement with a developer, Kenyon Square Condos, along with other condo buildings in NW DC, was developed with a certain percentage of affordable units. These affordable units, geared toward people who make between 30%-80% of the Area Median Income, were meant to allow lower income people become homeowners and reman in quickly gentrifying areas like Columbia Heights. However, as a result of poor city planning and resale/rental restrictions, these affordable homeowners have been put in an impossible and disastrous financial situation. The City must find a solution! Support your neighbors by signing a petition to the DC government at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/affordablecondos/.
