Mike Richards Hits David Booth + Interview with Richards

Philadelphia Flyers captain Mike Richards laid a huge hit on Florida Panthers left winger David Booth on 10/24/09. Booth was unconscious and did not move for about 5 minutes. The doctors came out and helped him onto a stretcher. The delay lasted about 12 minutes. He was taken to the hospital and they are saying that he is fine and he will make a full recovery. He spoke, and they tested his motor skills. He is going to be fine. When he will return has not been announced.

Mike Richards said that he had no intention of hurting Booth and that he is concerned about him. Mike is obviously not known for dirty hits, although the hit itself was not dirty. To me, it's just a wrong place/wrong time sort of ordeal here.




Mike Richards will not be suspended by the NHL and will not be fined. He received a 5 minute major and was thrown out of the game.
