I did a show with Billy Joe Royal about 5 years ago. One of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. I told him that I downloaded this song because I couldn't find it at any store..He was cool with that.He ( like many people) thought this should have been a big hit!! I couldn't agree more.

Thank you so much for sharing this song. It is one of my all time favorites.I love all of his songs and have for years. I remember listening to him when I was only a child and I knew his songs by heart and would sing them while swinging. Such wonderful memories of the good old days.

Love this song, but I love any song Billy Joe sings. His voice is one of the greatest of all time !!! I am trying to find when he is touring again, and I have looked all over the internet. Can someone help me ?? Thanks.

Thank you for posting one of my all-time favorites...and I'm a California boy. This song was introduced to me in '68 while I was in the Army at Ft. Ord, Ca. The GI who had worked with Joe South (song writer) was Thomas Aiken. We were in infantry training together and went our separate ways upon arrival in Vietnam. I only hope he's OK and doing well. We made him sing it 100 times...and he sang it just like Billy Joe...maybe better?! Thanks again. SerenaBay
