i agree 100%, and thats what almost all mma fighters lack. but the ones that have that mentality separate them selves from the pack, like machida

Yeah dude, practice is the only way...kick kick kick kick and then kick some more.....eventually, ur muscles 'remember' the movement and it then becomes part of you..

I totally agree. I'm probably gonna catch hell for saying this, but it almost gets boring sometimes. This is why people lose interest. But, repetition is the ONLY way. Kihon , kata, and kumite over, and over, and over.... Do your thinking in the dojo, during drills this way in a fight, it is automatic. Oss.

Yea very true. I personally like kata the most since I can really really get into it. It also helps when everyone is into it. That's why I try to kia the loudest, lol. Keep up the energy in the dojo. It's only after you become a black belt when you start to learn more complicated things like torite (spelling) or other grappling like techniques.

Where do you guys train? What Country/State?

thank you, now try explaining that to teenage guys thats think because they watch mma that makes them tough. and they dont protect their heads because you taught to defend before any contact to the head, its dealing with the attacker with one punch or combination and moving on the the next, unlike boxing and mma where you are taking many shots and trying to last longer then the other guy.

Many MMA guys that I have seen don't have very good standup. They stand right in range, trading and deflecting punches off the gloves, each one desperately trying to survive long enough to take the other guy down and have a BJJ match.

why dont they protect their heads, hikite seems pointless and obviously dangerous if the head is exposed and you are not grasping the opponent!

If you look hard enough, you CAN find that skill, but it is few and far between. The problem is that people want everything NOW. They don't want to put the time in. Karate is hard work and repetition. Oss.
