I used to follow the band all around the DC metro area (swing dancer) and was astounded by the sheer raw talent. The ability to write and play this music was second to none. The tragic murder of Darren those many years ago still makes me wonder "what if..."
Not only a great player, but a genuinely nice guy who (I believe) didn't know just how amazingly talented he was.

@morongo ....That is a great idea....I for one would love to offer my services for such an event. I am the lead singer with COOL CAT CRY, and we do some 'Go Cat Go' covers, and in fact our band name is taken from 'Til the cool cats cry'. Darren was such a star. It's a real loss to the world not having him around, but folks like us guys in COOL CAT CRY will help keep his songs going as long as we can.

I sent my mom a video of "Please Mama Please" a while back and the first thing she said was, "He sounds just like Elvis." Darren truly does sound like Elvis and it's so sad that his life ended way too soon before his band could get even more success. I just read about how he died, damn those teenagers who shot him.

This was such a awesome band its just sad how it all ended because of stupid kids, a voice was silence and he did have such an amazing voice sad we didn't get a chance to experience more of this great band...... but his voice and music will live forever!!!!

The remaining members of Go Cat Go should do a show once a year and bring in other singers to sing..Brian Setzer, Elvis from 3BJ,etc. Donate all the money to a fund if Darren had children for them, or something he cared about. At the end of each show they should drag the kids who did it out and toss them to the crowd for 5 minutes. A once yearly godawful beatdown reminder for them...and a once yearly reminder for the lucky few to have heard GCG how lucky we were for the one disc. Win/WIn IMO
