  • eidos are masters at this sort of game, like Legacy of Kain.

iv never played the dark project. can it run on vista?

  • Eidos never made Dark Project.

It was Looking Glass Studios. They are the masters :P

  • I'm new to PC gaming! I just put 2gether a high end system so i jus wanna try out sum nice games... I used to be a console gamer and my all time favorite game Metal Gear Solid. So I searched for stealth games and found Thief to be the greatest ever made so I got Thief 3: Deadly Shadows and I didn't see any cutscenes in the beginning... the game just started n thts very disappointing because cutscenes is what motivates me to keep playing!

So is this a glitch or does T3 not have any cutscenes?

  • Thief 3 has cutscenes, quite a lot of them. But they dont start until after the first mission or so. Just play on, you'll get to them.

And there is also an introduction cutscene.

If you leave the game on the start screen (the screen where it says, New Game, Load, Options ect)

After a few minutes the intro should appear.

  • The science fiction part in Thief is clearly steampunk or a hybrid of clockpunk/steampunk (retro-futuristic technology inspired by the one used during the first industrial revolution). Simply said : A city based apparently on the late-gothic era of 14.-th and 15.-th century Europe, but with electric streetlights, occasional steam engines, lots of clockwork and small everyday mechanical contraptions... ;-)

  • @deathgreeb101 Agreed Eidos published some amazing and groundbreaking games. They sure could spot talent :o)

  • These cutscenes and the entire Thief saga have confirmed me once again that mere graphics cannot win against such an artistic atmosphere.

  • @jillym1231211 Without Eidos, Looking Glass Studios wouldn't have had any funding to make System Shock 2 or Thief so it's not only down to the developer, the publisher had to fund the whole thing to begin with.

The worst part is now Eidos are owned by Square Enix and it's the end of the great development companies, all their intellectual property has been snapped up and used to make money not in the interest of the original development team.

  • i am mad about this game! :)

  • big fan of the thief games, well, ive only played deadly shadows really but i like all of them, i love the setting too, it wouldnt work as well if it was a modern setting, like garrett in todays world, it wouldnt be as fun imo. And there's something that fascinates me about the medieval times and i love bein a sneaky bastard >:D but the main thing i love, about gameplay anyway is tht garrett relies on stealth as his main weapon, i mean u cant really melee anyone cos 50/50 you'll lose

  • @BaggysAnime same happened to me so I just watch them here as i play through - are you running windows vista or 7? might be a compatibility issue or something

  • @Atrahasis7 Definitely, there is no way around this game, it's a masterpiece!

  • How come i never got any of these cutscenes? all i get is a standard text based mission breifing.

  • Brilliant story. I wish there was a book about it.

  • Yes. But you have to jump through major hoops. I spend hours just starting the tutorial.
