Sumerian version that predates the bible by almost 2,000 years. Much of text, written in cuneiform on stone tablets, did not survive the long and difficult journey through the ages but enough has survived to sufficiently blow your mind. Enjoy.

  • The Old testament is the history of the Jews and nothing more. The account of creation in Genesis is just hand-me-down "spin" as presented by the writers who had little more intelligence than a can of tuna. To learn the truth you must read all available material and not just works by some guy named Moses.

  • @dickmartn

"...little more intelligence than a can of tuna."

Funny, but sad, too. In your rush to condemn, you fail to see the parallels that are illustrated here in this video.

Works by a guy named Moses? Do you really believe Moses wrote the Hebrew Bible? Maybe that's where you should start.

    Good luck

  • What does it matter if the flood was worldwide or regional ? The point is totally invalid ! The function of the bible is to introduce us to and teach Us the importance of Honoring God.. The bible makes no attempt or claim as an authority set out to define perfectly accurate details of geography, time frames, etc... And, those who choose to argue the details of events such as the flood in an attempt to further validate OR dispell it, are much like elephant's attempting to tread water IMHO..

You make some very good points, but it is also important to recognize the Bible's structure that works to not only to reveal dine truths but also define a people as well. The Bible does indeed present a history that has been taken as truth for centuries. Larger ideas are presented that are purely mythical, true, but there is a definite blend. That's why it's so confusing. Archaeology is providing more answers every year but we need to be open to what we find.

  • interesting video and very informative

  • @NotInMyName2012 Where is this evidence and how do you define great knowledge? You assert ancient people "even mapped the entire globe thousands of years ago". Are you on medication?

  • really informative and interesting

  • @NotInMyName2012 The point is not whether I can spare an hour but why would I waste an hour watching an opinion piece with no basis in science. There is far more entertaining fiction than that to watch and the numerous videos that debunk it with actual science would be a better investment of anyone's time.

You studied Geology at Herts Uni? When? I only ask because it seems that since you got a degree they have realised they knew nothing about Geology and stopped teaching it.

  • @croxleylad lol can't you spare the hour! I studied at Hertfordshire University if you really must know. If you can't even be bothered to listen to a very interesting talk such as the one I suggested then I have to say discussion closed. Have a good life :-)

  • @ let's not get into conjecture regarding the flood'myths'. How about we evaluate the geological evedence as it presents itself. The lecture I asked you to give some time to was not saying the Gt canyon was carved out by a flood. The guy was mearly presenting the anomalies in the diffent sedimentary rock layers and as such put forward a compelling arguement for there having been a massive event some time in Earths history.I wonder, did you actually spare the time to listen to this lecture?

  • @NotInMyName2012 Actually I did look at the video but it is more than one hour long and unless it is really going to provide some proper evidence its not worthwhile watching something that re-hashes the same only crazy tales.

One indicator I use to decide if something is worth watching is if it cites sources - sadly this video doesn't and that of course suggests one thing - that there is no science supporting it at all.

Where did you get your degree?
