The song "Crash Course In Brain Surgery" was originally released by Budgie on their debut album "Budgie" in 1971.
Budgie from Cardiff, Wales, played old-school 'muck'n'howl' songs.

Metallica originally released it in August 1987 on "The $5.98 E.P. - Garage Days Re-Revisited" EP.

The label copy of "The $5.98 EP Garage Days Re-Revisited" noted that "Crash Course In Brain Surgery" was first recorded in 1974 because it is also included on Budgie's album of that year "In For The Kill", but actually it had been cut in 1971 and first issued on "Budgie" just listed as "Crash Course".

The "Oooh, baby" part:
Metallica replaced the in the original version existing "Oooh, baby" part by massed drunken bellowing.

All rights goes to the band Metallica, the record label, copyright owner etc.

  • lars looks so gay lol but great drumming back in the day

  • i saw metallica performing live at the astrodome in houston tx- i remember the show. guns and roses, faith no more. at that night james didnt play the guitar. he got some kind of accident. wich hurts one of his hands,.,.,.,.,.,

  • @gh3tt0bl4st4 i also had this on cassette and i agree with you.

  • @expectador Thanks to these guys I got into Budgie. THEY FUCKING RULE.

  • Plus also it retailed at the princey sum of £2.99 back in 1987.

  • Well it wasn't released as an album in the UK, due to the fact that the Killing Joke cover, 'The Wait' was left out. But, it was the best 12" single ever released by Mettallica, albeit a series of covers.

  • The best Metallica album ever. Yeah, I said it.

  • @BLACKSABBATH0HM

ur wish has been granted cos they didnt make shitty covers of good songs
