  • Well, I see the audio of the shows survived somehow, what of the actual film? I would love to see them all.

The girl put out 2 studio albums. I just never thought of her as being so busy. After a little research, I found her itinerary was quite packed with appearances and projects.

Of all of them, these shows are of the most interest. It was before the VCR age. Did the films not survive? The present fan base could support an official DVD release. I wonder how she feels about them.

  • There were more than 2 albums...

As for her TV series, sadly the BBC wiped the film.

The audio for the 6 shows were taped via an open mic onto a reel to reel (thank goodness)

Such a shame they could be lost for ever I am lucky I have my memories and I can remember some of it quite clearly, but who knows they were screened in a few countries maybe, just maybe someone will find them covered in dust somewhere!

  • Thankyou for sharing Pat.Beautiful song & pictures. Made me think of the song "Snowbird", I see on M.H.F.S.,Pat, that Mary dueted that song with Lulu. Have you got it? If copywrite permits would love to hear it.

  • Yes it 's on cassette... very poor audio quality, very poor I'm afraid...

    Pat

  • Does anyone have more songs from this TV series? LIke I heard Mary also sang Chim Chim Cheree from Mary Poppins there...

  • Hi Pertly

Yes I do have all the 6 shows..

I will get around to doing them ASAP

What other songs would you like to hear from the shows?

    Pat

  • Whatever the medium, the voice comes through as clear as a bell.

  • This song brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it. Mom took me to see the film 'The Sound of Music' when I was a young lad of 6 years old. Mary makes any song she sings sound wonderful!

  • I'm talking about when she was younger, before her pre-retirement/marriage/musical laodicean period. She had 2 studio albums, an ep (which I was lucky enough to find, along with some other Welsh 7" singles, in a dustbin), a live LP, and a sting of singles, no?

GOD is that a shame about those shows! How could the BBC do that? Why? That's nutty! I would love to see them. Sad.

Whoever *winks* has those recordings should put them out, in full, here on Youtube!

  • Beautiful!

  • Excellent version of this song. Petula Clark's version of Edelweiss when she performed in the Sound of Music, in the 1980s, is my favorite.

  • I really it listening to!

The quality is far beyond a problem.

    Tommy
